Title: Characterization of a Novel Cation Exchange Resin for the Intermediate Purification of Monoclonal Antibodies
Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies are the largest class of approved biopharmaceutical molecules. Downstream purification processes for monoclonal antibodies often employ a cation exchange chromatography step to remove aggregated proteins. In this presentation, we examine the characterization of a novel cation exchange resin for the removal of aggregates from monoclonal antibody preparations. Performance of the resin against traditional cation exchangers is examined, and case studies are performed examining the performance of the resin in both bind-and-elute and flow-through chromatography modes. Separations are optimized with multivariable analysis (DoE) techniques.
Bio: Bill obtained his bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology/Biochemistry from Bucknell University. He continued his studies at M.I.T. where he earned a master’s degree in Biology.
